Former University of Georgia President Charles B. Knapp Joins Heidrick & Struggles

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq:HSII), the world's leading executive search firm, announced today that Charles B. Knapp, previously a Senior Fellow at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and the former University of Georgia President, will join the Atlanta office as a partner focusing on the Education/Nonprofit Practice effective Jan. 17, 2000.

Prior to joining the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, Dr. Knapp served as President of the Aspen Institute. From 1987 to 1997, he was the President and a Professor of Economics at the University of Georgia. He also held senior management positions at Tulane University. Early in his career, Dr. Knapp served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor in the Carter Administration.

He is a Senior Scholar at the American Council on Education and a Senior Fellow of the Payson Center for International Development and Technology Transfer at Tulane University. Dr. Knapp received his B.S. degree, with honors and distinction, from Iowa State University and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. He serves on the Board of Directors of AFLAC, Inc..
