LeadersOnline Adds Three Prominent Business Leaders to Board of Directors
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- LeadersOnline, the quality, full-service Internet-based executive search firm from Heidrick & Struggles International (Nasdaq: HSII), today introduced its expanded board of directors.
With the recent additions of Robert W. Shaw, a technology and operations leader, William Porter Payne, the former Atlanta Olympic Committee President and CEO, and Piers Marmion, Chief Operating Officer of Heidrick & Struggles Executive Search, the LeadersOnline board of directors now consists of five members. In addition to Shaw, Payne and Marmion, the board includes Patrick S. Pittard, Chairman, President and CEO of Heidrick & Struggles International (who serves as Chairman of the LeadersOnline board), and LeadersOnline President Michael T. Christy.
Pittard and Shaw also sit on the board of Heidrick & Struggles International, the worldwide leader in executive recruiting.

LeadersOnline was launched in March 1999 as the Heidrick & Struggles International solution to fulfill client demand for quality mid-level executives via a comprehensive, web-based service. The additions of Shaw, Payne and Marmion to the board come as Irvine, Calif.-based LeadersOnline continues its rapid growth in the web-based recruiting sector. LeadersOnline now has more than 75 employees located in five countries worldwide and helps clients recruit next-generation leaders for positions with an average compensation of approximately $140,000.
Shaw is currently CEO of Silicon Valley Internet Capital. His 20-year career includes serving as CEO of USWeb/CKS, an Internet professional services firm. There, he restructured the company into profitable regions, more than doubled the company's talent base and tripled revenues. As a senior member of Oracle Corp.'s executive team, Shaw was in charge of the company's worldwide consulting services and vertical markets. During his six-year tenure at Oracle, Shaw built the global consulting organization, set strategy and managed the worldwide sales division for the company's largest and most strategic clients. In addition, Shaw managed the San Francisco office of Booz Allen & Hamilton, was a managing partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In addition to LeadersOnline and Heidrick & Struggles International, Shaw also currently serves on the boards of Quintus, Portera, Website Pros and Yesmail.com.
Payne is a Partner at Gleacher & Co., a New York-based investment banking and private equity investment firm. Prior to this engagement, Payne served as Vice Chairman of NationsBank as well as President and CEO of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, where he directed activities to raise approximately $2.5 billion in revenue to finance the games. As an attorney in private practice, Payne specialized in commercial real estate transactions during a 16-year career. Payne was also a Vice Chairman and Director for Premiere Technologies, where he was responsible for the creation of strategic alliances for WebMD and the worldwide introduction of the company's Web-based intelligent communications manager, Orchestrate. Payne holds numerous honorary academic degrees, sits on the boards for more than a dozen private and public institutions, and has been widely recognized and honored for his leadership in the state of Georgia.
Marmion, in addition to his post as COO for Heidrick & Struggles Executive Search, is also President of the International segment. He recently joined the company after 10 years with Spencer Stuart & Associates, where he founded and built their premium brand selection practice. He later spent six years as COO of the firm worldwide, including head of Europe and Asia. More recently, he was responsible for initiating the firm's on-line recruitment plans. He was jointly responsible for a variety of worldwide programs at Spencer Stuart, driving the growth of the business in 28 locations from $25 million to $125 million. Prior to his engagement with Spencer Stuart, Marmion served as Founding Director and Deputy Managing Director of NB Selection for Norman Broadbent International.
Christy, President of LeadersOnline, brings more than 15 years of combined experience in the technology and executive search fields. He was a senior partner with Heidrick & Struggles International, where he founded the company's Irvine, California and Tysons Corner, Virginia offices. He also served as Managing Partner for the International Technology Practice and Chairman of the Systems Advisory Board. Christy concluded a distinguished 21-year career with the United States Air Force in 1984, retiring with the rank of Colonel. During his tenure, he held numerous key command positions and served as Executive Assistant to the Director, National Security Agency.
As Chairman, President and CEO of Heidrick & Struggles International, Pittard provides strategic leadership for the firm to ensure its performance and world-class standing.
