Heidrick & Struggles Names Stephanie W. Abramson as Chief Legal Officer And Chief Development Officer
CHICAGO, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII), the world's premier executive search and leadership consulting firm, today announced it has named Stephanie W. Abramson as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Corporate Development Officer. Abramson, 56, joins Heidrick & Struggles following five years with Young & Rubicam Inc., where she was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. At Young & Rubicam -- a $1.7 billion global marketing and communications firm -- she was an integral member of the top management team that led the employee-owned private company through a leveraged recapitalization, an initial public offering and additional offerings, several acquisitions, and its ultimate acquisition by WPP Group plc. in October 2000. "We are fortunate to have Stephanie's specific knowledge and experience to help lead us through the sort of growth trajectory she has known at Young & Rubicam," said Patrick S. Pittard, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heidrick & Struggles International (HSI Group). "She is the right person at the right time for the firm and an exceptional addition to the growing Heidrick & Struggles family and our senior management team." Added Abramson, "I am impressed with Heidrick & Struggles' commitment to professional excellence and growth. I look forward to contributing to the success of the leading firm in the market." Based out of New York in her new role at Heidrick & Struggles, Abramson has responsibility for the legal and corporate development activities and -- on an interim basis -- the human resources function. She succeeds Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel Richard D. Nelson. A 36-year veteran of the firm, Nelson will continue to work with executive management on significant strategic initiatives. Previously, Abramson was a senior partner of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in New York, where she specialized in corporate and securities law and held various management positions. She graduated with honors from New York University School of Law in 1969, where she was an editor of the Law Review. She graduated with honors from Radcliffe College of Harvard University in 1966.
