Heidrick & Struggles Names Two New Independent Directors to Its Board
CHICAGO, March 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII), the world's premier executive search and leadership consulting firm, today announced that it has named Richard I. Beattie and Philip A. Laskawy to its Board of Directors. The additions are part of the continuing plan to reshape the Heidrick & Struggles Board to a majority of independent directors.
Beattie, 62, has been Chairman of the Executive Committee of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a global law firm, since 1991. During his tenure, he has counseled numerous boards and non-management directors on governance issues. Prior to 1991, he served in various positions at both Simpson Thacher and at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Beattie also is a director of Harley-Davidson, Inc.
Laskawy, 60, is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ernst & Young, the global accounting and consulting firm where he served his entire 40-year career. He recently served on the highly regarded Blue Ribbon Committee on Improving the Effectiveness of Corporate Audit Committees. Laskawy is also a director on the boards of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and The Progressive Corporation. At Heidrick & Struggles, he will serve as Chair of the board's Audit Committee.
