Heidrick & Struggles Formalizes Joint Venture Agreement in China With Beijing Leading Resources

Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII), the world's premier executive search and leadership consulting firm, today announced it has formalized a joint venture agreement with Beijing Leading Human Resources Consulting Company, Ltd., a well-known, established executive search firm in China since 1998. As part of their long-term commitment to the Chinese market, together Heidrick & Struggles and Beijing Leading Resources will focus on assisting clients in China to attract, develop, and retain world-class executives, particularly working with Chinese State Owned Enterprises in their continuing reform efforts and with multinational companies.

In addition to providing tailored executive recruitment services, Heidrick & Struggles China -- as the joint venture is known -- will offer complementary leadership services, including executive assessment, professional development, coaching and interim executive placement.

The joint venture agreement follows recent approvals from the Beijing Ministry of Personnel, the Beijing Ministry of Foreign Relations Trade (COFERT), and the Beijing Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Under the terms of the agreement, David S.G. Guo will serve as Chairman while Steve Mullinjer, a Heidrick & Struggles partner, will serve as General Manager of the joint Chinese operation. Initially, Heidrick & Struggles China will operate from offices in Beijing and Shanghai but plans to expand into other principal cities in China as clients' needs demand.
