Kevin J. Smith Joins Heidrick & Struggles as Chief Financial Officer
CHICAGO, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII), the world's premier executive search and leadership consulting firm, today announced that it has hired Kevin J. Smith as Chief Financial Officer.

Smith, 47, has 25 years of financial and operating management experience in professional services and consumer products companies. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for True North Communications, an advertising and marketing services company. While at True North, Smith worked closely with senior operating management to restructure under-performing business units, to improve operating margins and to successfully negotiate the eventual sale of the company. From 1998 to 2000 he was Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for that company.
Previously, Smith spent six years at Alexander & Alexander Services Inc., an insurance brokerage firm. Initially, he was Vice President and Corporate Controller, and later became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alexsis Inc., a unit of Alexander & Alexander Services Inc.
Smith also worked for the Beatrice Companies, a food and consumer products firm, and subsequently for Beatrice International Food Company after its leveraged buyout, where his last position was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
A Certified Public Accountant, Smith earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BBA from Pace University in New York.
