CHICAGO, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII), the world's premier executive search and leadership consulting firm, today announced a series of leadership appointments consistent with previously announced plans to enhance the firm's global client service platform and to simplify its management structure.

The appointments give new operating authority to three of the firm's most successful consultants:

    -- Joie A. Gregor, Vice Chairman and Managing Partner of the North
       American Board of Directors Practice, to President of North America;
    -- Bonnie W. Gwin, Managing Partner of the Technology and Professional
       Services Practice, to Managing Partner for North American Operations;
       and
    -- Michael Franzino, Managing Partner of the Financial Services Practice,
       to Managing Partner of Global Industry Practices, with responsibility
       for all industry and functional practices, and the company's key
       account management program.

Gregor, Gwin and Franzino will retain their current responsibilities while stepping into to their new leadership roles. The three consultants together assume responsibilities previously held by David C. Anderson, who has chosen to return to a major client-facing role after serving in management roles since joining the firm in 1992. Most recently, Anderson was President and Chief Operating Officer, and head of North America. The position of Chief Operating Officer has been eliminated.

"These appointments are a critical step in our strategy to enhance our client-focused, high performance culture in order to win market share in a fiercely competitive environment," said Piers Marmion, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Heidrick & Struggles. "Joie, Mike and Bonnie represent an exceptionally qualified team of strong performers. In their new roles, they will lead from the front, setting an example for others to follow."

Added Marmion, "I cannot pay too strong a tribute to David for his many contributions to Heidrick & Struggles, and certainly over the past 18 months as we have reshaped the firm. We are deeply indebted to him. By following through with his long-held desire to return to serving clients, he personifies the best of our successful client-focused culture."
