Ron Brown is the founder of the firm's Colorado office and managing partner for the firm's Global Technology & Services practice in North America. Ron's national search practice focuses on senior executive-level assignments for CEOs, COOs, board members and functional specialists, including for private equity-backed and growth stage companies.
Ron joined Heidrick & Struggles in 1996 in its Northern Virginia office, the firm's East Coast technology hub. While there, he was named a recipient of the Heidrick & Struggles' Partnership Spirit Award, the firm's most prestigious honor. In 1998, Ron moved to California where he helped open the firm's Orange County office. Ron has held various leadership positions within Heidrick & Struggles, including associate director of the Technology Practice, and managing partner of principal development.
Prior to working for Heidrick & Struggles, Ron served in various appointed government positions, including deputy associate director of Presidential Personnel at The White House. He began his career in marketing and government relations positions with a major policy research institution.
Ron serves on the board of the CU-Denver College of Business, and is past Chairman and current board member of the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship there. He also serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the advisory board of a start up software company. Ron is a frequent speaker on issues of leadership and corporate governance.
