Bob Atkins has successfully completed a number of searches for senior executives in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries, and has also worked on board searches across many industries.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1998, Bob was vice president and managing director, pharmaceuticals of the Hay Group for nine years, with responsibility for directing their pharmaceutical industry practice in the US and participating in the firm's worldwide practice.
Previously, Bob was a senior vice president for IMS, the healthcare research and information services firm, and president of Fisher-Stevens, a service organization specializing in marketing and sales applications for the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years.
Bob has been active on a number of boards, both civic and business including Passaic General Hospital, the College of St. Elizabeth and St. Mary's Hospital - all in New Jersey - and the Bureau of National Affairs in Washington, DC. He has also been a member of the Young Presidents' Organization.
Most recently, Bob taught in the management department of the College of St. Elizabeth. He also has held teaching positions at Wharton and in the management department of Fairleigh Dickinson University's graduate division.
In addition, Bob has authored a number of articles appearing in the Harvard Business Review, Pharmaceutical Executive, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Media and other professional and industry journals.
