Pascal Smith is co-head of the global Hedge Fund Practice. He joined Heidrick & Struggles’ London office in 2002 and specializes in European search assignments. Up until joining Heidrick & Struggles, Pascal worked at Armstrong International, the London based financial services search firm. Pascal worked as a senior consultant in the global equities practice, having joined the firm in 1997 after two years as an investment banking recruiter at City-based Michael Page.
Over the last eight years, Pascal has focused on servicing a hedge fund client base and has recruited traders, risk managers, fund-raisers and analysts for funds across a range of strategies. In the fixed income arena these have included relative value, distressed debt and commodities and within equities, long-short and event-driven funds. Pascal has also worked with some of the leading fund of hedge fund firms, helping to recruit both investment and marketing professionals.
Additionally, working alongside functional specialists, he has assisted hedge fund clients in building functional infrastructure, including COO, risk management, technology, tax and legal roles. He has worked with some of the leading and most well-established funds, in addition to funds in early stages of development.
