Professional Profile

David Boehmer is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Financial Services Practice and is head of the Consumer & Commercial Finance sector for the Americas - splitting his time between the firm's San Francisco and New York offices. The practice is made up of the preeminent leadership search and advisory consultants in the region, with a broad range of expertise across the banking, deposits, lending, payments and transaction services sectors.

Previously, David was the head of the Financial Services Infrastructure sector for the Americas, a practice made up of teams focused on the functional areas of financial services to include finance, risk, legal, compliance, technology, operations, audit, human resources and sales/marketing.

David’s portfolio of search and advisory work over the years has spanned senior front office and functional roles including CEO, COO and general management positions across banking, asset management, hedge fund, capital markets, insurance and alternative investment clients.

Prior to joining the firm, David was a managing associate with Executive Search Consultants International (ESCI), a generalist boutique executive search firm located in New York City. In that capacity, David managed and executed executive search and management consulting assignments focusing on the financial services and technology. He was responsible for coordinating business development initiatives with the firm's global partners throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Before joining ESCI as an associate, David was a research associate with another international search firm where he was a member of that firm's technology and telecommunications practice.

Education

David received a bachelors of arts degree in political science from Yale University.
