Dick Caldera became Heidrick & Struggles' chief human resources officer in 2008. Based in the Chicago headquarters, he also serves on the firm's Executive Committee.
Dick joined Heidrick & Struggles from Royal Philips Electronics N.V. where he had been since 2004. Most recently he was senior vice president, human resources, mergers & acquisitions for the healthcare sector. Previously he was senior vice president, human resources at Skanska AB from 2002 to 2004 - based in New York and Stockholm - and vice president and senior human resources officer, global operations at CNA Financial Corporation from 1998 to 2002.
Prior to that Dick held HR positions of increasing responsibility at Amoco Corporation, including having led the HR function for Amoco's European chemical operations while living in Geneva from 1989 to 1994. He joined Amoco in 1980.
His professional affiliations include chairperson of the advisory board for Career Advancement Network (NFP), member of Global Human Resources Council - The Conference Board (1999-2003), chairperson for International Quality and Productivity Center workshop on "Measuring and Improving the Human Resources Function," (October, 1996 and February, 1997), member of Human Resources Planning Society.
