Lawrence Allen is based in Heidrick and Struggles’ Dallas office after having served the firm from its Beijing China office for more than four years. He is a twenty-year veteran of building multinational businesses in the Greater China Region and is an active member of the firm’s Industrial and Consumer practices.
Executive recruiter and leadership advisor, author and experienced business professional, prior to joining the firm Lawrence grew branded consumer products businesses in the Asia Pacific Region for companies such as Nestlé, Hershey and Warner-Lambert.
He is passionate about helping clients transition toward becoming high-functioning, globally-competitive organizations—led by a cadre of talent that is as global as their company’s footprint. Lawrence is also author of Chocolate Fortunes: The Battle for the Hearts, Minds, and Wallets of China's Consumers (AMACOM, 2010), a China business book which chronicles the past quarter-century battle between the world's leading chocolate companies for China's virgin chocolate market.
