Gareth McIlroy is the regional managing partner responsible for the Leadership Consulting Practice in Asia, based in the Singapore office. His key area of expertise is in the design and implementation of senior executive initiatives which address internal development needs, whilst supporting the business to deliver superior results. Gareth uses his natural coaching skills in working with senior executives to not only identify and assess their leadership development needs, but also to support them as they focus on specific skills to enhance their leadership effectiveness.
Gareth has built an impressive track record assisting senior executives from major multinationals and governmental agencies all over the world, delivering programs in USA, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. His work with senior executives includes supporting pre-IPO leadership teams in preparation for life as a publicly listed company, and on various CEO succession projects.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Gareth was a main board director responsible for training at TWP, a training and consultancy firm with offices throughout Asia. During his 12 years with them he played a key role in their effective expansion into new markets across Asia.
Gareth relocated to Asia from Europe 19 years ago, and has lived in Malaysia and Thailand, before finally taking up residency in Singapore 13 years ago. Prior to moving to Asia, he worked in London as a project manager for a large international construction company.
