Heidrick & Struggles is proud to participate for the 10th year as a strategic partner of The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, held January 17-20, 2017.

Responsive and Responsible Leadership is the theme driving this global ‘summit of summits’ where leaders from business, government, international non-profit organizations, academia, and civil society come together to explore, co-create, and collaborate in peer-to-peer sessions on shaping the future of economic development and social progress.

We closely identify with the Forum's mission of Improving the State of the World, and we contribute by sharing insights into the leadership challenges facing global organizations.

Underscoring this commitment, Heidrick & Struggles’ President and Chief Executive Officer Tracy Wolstencroft hosted a private breakfast panel discussion with more than 110 CEOs and C-suite executives on Jan. 19 to explore implications of our new leadership research findings on how leaders, teams, and organizations can accelerate sustainable performance.

Panelists included Tata Consultancy Services CEO Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Ingredion CEO Ilene Gordon, PayPal CEO Dan Shulman, and Thomson Reuters CEO James Smith. Colin Price, Heidrick & Struggles’ EVP and Managing Partner, Leadership Consulting, led the lively panel discussion. Price is co-author of the new book, Accelerating Performance: How Organizations Can Mobilize, Execute, and Transform with Agility, which was launched at the WEF Annual Meeting. The book is the culmination of empirical research and decades of experience advising global companies on how to reduce time to value by building and changing momentum faster than competitors.

“To create and lead healthy teams and a healthy organization in a world that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, leaders must cultivate the ability not to shrink or hide from apparent tensions,” Price said. “They can exploit tensions and learn from them, and, critically, they can help others to do the same. This is what is demanded of leaders who would succeed today.”
