Alain Deniau is a partner based in Heidrick & Struggles’ Singapore office. He is a member of Consumer Markets Practice and CEO & Board Practice. Previously, he served as the firm’s EMEA and Africa regional managing partner. Alain has extensive experience in senior cross-border assignments within Asia as well as between Europe and Asia.

An accomplished consultant, starting his career as an engineer and property developer in Asia and later becoming a management consultant with Mars & Co, he has more than two decades of experience in Executive Search and Leadership Advisory. Alain has gained a strong reputation among top company leaders across a wide spectrum of sectors, including hospitality, property retail, entertainment, FMCG, retail, industrial and manufacturing, and supply chain.

With experience spanning Paris, London, Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Singapore, Alain specializes in international search assignments, leadership assessment, and consulting. He aids private equity firms in identifying CEOs and senior advisors, as well as developing top teams. As an active member of the CEO & Board of Directors Practice covering board and non-executive director searches, Alain advises companies in areas such as executive performance, succession planning, and top-team effectiveness.

During his career at Heidrick & Struggles, Alain has spearheaded various IPs and thought leadership articles, including Route to the Top and Building an Effective and Diverse Board. In addition, Alain has also represented the firm at several top leadership events, including the World Economic Forum in Africa and Asia. Strongly committed to diversity and inclusion, Alain is the firm's spokesperson on diversity initiatives, sharing his views at press conferences and in client events, and has been frequently quoted in the media.

Education:

Alain graduated from ESTP Paris and received an MBA from INSEAD. He is fluent in French and English.
