Sara E. Spiering

Overview

Sara Spiering is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Chicago office and regional managing partner of the Industrial Practice in the Americas. She has placed more than 300 executives on corporate boards, primarily for industrial companies.

Experience

Sara is a member of the CEO & Board of Directors Practice and previously led the global Diversified Services Sector, covering industrial services, distribution, transportation and logistics, engineering and construction, and infrastructure.  She focuses on searches for non-executive directors, non-executive and executive chairs, pre-IPO and other board-building projects, and board succession planning.

Sara has deep expertise in diversity board recruiting and speaks frequently on governance issues. Before joining Heidrick & Struggles in 2009, she practiced management-focused employment law and commercial litigation with DeWitt Ross & Stevens.
