Kathryn Ullrich is an executive recruiter in Heidrick & Struggles’ Menlo Park office and a member of the Global Technology & Services Practice. Her executive search practice focuses on VP Sales, VP Marketing/CMO, VP Product Management, VP Business Development, VP Channels/Alliances, and Chief Operating Officer recruitment within software, internet, and technology services companies, including cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing, Internet of Things (IoT), payments, vertical industry focused enterprise and SaaS software companies, and Asian-based tech companies expanding into Silicon Valley.

Kathryn is passionate about advancing women in tech and is a part of the Diversity Practice with a focus on hiring gender diversity in technology searches. Kathy co-founded a Silicon Valley non-profit, now SVForum Tech Women’s Program, with the mission to educate, mentor, and connect women in technology companies in the Bay Area. Kathryn was named one of the Women of Influence 2016 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal for her work in diversity in technology searches.

Kathryn has 16 years of experience in executive search consulting as president of a Silicon Valley executive recruiting boutique firm and executive recruiter at another major international executive search firm. Prior to being an executive search consultant, Kathryn had careers in engineering at Motorola and GTE (now Verizon), strategy consulting with Accenture, and software product marketing with Siebel Systems (now Oracle). She also led alumni career services for UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Kathryn has written an award-winning career book, Getting to the Top: Strategies for Career Success and holds patents for a near video-on-demand service. 


She has a BS in electrical engineering, cum laude, from University of Michigan and an MBA with top Carter Honors from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
