Christopher Brookfield is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington DC office and a member of Heidrick Consulting. With more than 15 years of coaching, group facilitation, and training experience, he co-leads the coaching arm of Philosophy IB, a boutique management consultancy focused on life sciences established in 2000 and acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in 2016.
As a former CEO for a Washington, D.C.-based multi-million dollar company, Chris understands the pressures of leading individuals and teams. He applies that experience to build leadership capacity in executives and translate it into peak performance for their organizations.
Chris was trained and certified through The Coaches Training Institute, one of the oldest and most rigorous coaching schools in the country. He is certified as a Professional Certified Coach through The International Coaching Federation, the profession's governing board.
Chris is also co-program director and professor of Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance, an executive coaching school at George Mason University. He has lectured at the Darden School of Business and served for three years on the board of directors of the Metro DC International Coach Federation.
Chris holds a master of business administration from Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Duke University.
