Overview

Bill Hudson is a senior advisor in Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington, DC office where he collaborates with boards and CEOs in the trade and professional association market to provide recruiting services, onboarding of new executives, culture shaping, succession planning, nonprofit board development, and other association management skills.

Experience

Bill comes to executive search with association leadership experience and a broad network in association and nonprofit communities. He has recently led CEO and senior staff searches for some of the most recognized and respected trade and professional associations.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Bill was president and CEO of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), a partnership of associations dedicated to the distribution of food commodities worldwide. Under Bill's leadership, GCCA evolved into a global organization with members in seventy-six countries with established offices in Europe, China, India, South Africa, Australia, and Latin America. Bill grew GCCA's membership to represent more than 90% of North America's industry.

Bill served initially as an association legal counsel, then VP government and industry affairs for the US Travel Association. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Washington, D.C. Bar Association.

Philanthropy and Service

Through the World Food Logistics Organization, a GCCA education, research, and development foundation, Bill initiated partnerships with USDA, USAID, USTDA, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to address post-harvest challenges around the world. He has served as a board member of the American Society of Association Executives and was the founding chair of the Foundation for International Meetings.
