Overview
Laura McCane is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office. With more than 17 years of human capital experience in leadership consulting and talent acquisition, Laura focuses on board effectiveness, executive leadership assessment, coaching, and development.
Experience
Laura works with senior leaders and boards to help them better understand and enhance their performance. She also supports human capital leaders, providing insights to inform critical talent decisions around hiring, succession planning, and development. Laura has experience working across various industries, including financial services, technology, consumer retail, and manufacturing.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, she held several internal talent roles focused on recruiting, training, leadership development, and team effectiveness. Most recently, she oversaw talent acquisition for Moelis & Company. In this capacity, she led the firm’s recruiting efforts and was responsible for building a differentiated strategy to identify, attract, and retain top talent. Laura began her career in attorney recruiting at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Laura is a certified executive coach (ICF).
