Ignacio Perez


Ignacio Perez is the partner in charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Mexico office and a member of the CEO & Board of Directors and Private Equity practices. He also leads the Consumer and Healthcare & Life Sciences practices in Mexico. Ignacio focuses on filling C-level board roles in Mexico and Latin America and engages with clients on culture, leadership assessments, board reviews, and succession planning while providing coaching and mentoring to executives.


With more than 20 years at Heidrick & Struggles, Ignacio is recognized for his quality, client focus, and consultative approach. He joined Heidrick & Struggles to develop the Technology Practice in Mexico and was instrumental in positioning the firm in the Mexican market.

Ignacio’s professional career spans more than 36 years working for large Mexican and international corporations, including consumer, healthcare and pharma, industrial, and technology markets. He is a strong promotor of female talent and has spoken in several forums on increasing the number of executive women in C-level and board positions, and has developed a strong network of C-Level executives in different industries in Mexico and abroad.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Ignacio was president of Thomas & Betts (acquired by ABB) in Mexico, where he was responsible for the full P&L, operations, and their new strategy to reposition products for the electrical, telecommunications, and electronics markets, developing the retail, industrial, and telecom businesses in Mexico.

Previously, Ignacio was the Latin American director of Motorola’s Information Systems Group (UDS and Codex), where he positioned Motorola as a leading competitor in the sector, achieving the number one position in the retail modems, the only country in the world with that position.

He started his career at Grupo Condumex, where he worked for almost eight years. In his last position there, he served as export manager for Latin America and Eastern Europe markets for electrical and telecommunication products, gaining a deep knowledge of the industrial and telecom sectors in the region.
