Daniel Edwards is global managing partner of the Private Equity Practice and is based in Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington, D.C. office. He previously served as global managing partner of the Financial Services Practice.
His expertise spans both traditional and alternative asset management sectors, as well as investment banking and private equity.
Daniel has served in numerous leadership capacities around the firm, including head of geographies overseeing the firm’s offices worldwide. He also was the regional managing partner for the firm’s business in Asia Pacific and co-global head of the Financial Services Practice. He moved into these roles having run the Asia Pacific Financial Services Practice and the firm’s Tokyo office. Prior to moving to Asia, Daniel managed the Wall Street office, the heart of the firm’s Financial Services Practice, and at the same time was co-head of the global Hedge Fund Practice.
Daniel was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2010. In 2017, he received Heidrick & Struggles’ top honor, the John E. Struggles Award, a partner-nominated and selected award given annually to the partner who most embodies the integrity, client focus, and partnership commitment of Heidrick & Struggles’ founder.
Daniel earned a master’s degree in modern languages from St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University. As part of his degree, he spent a year teaching in France and a year working for a charity in Mexico. He is fluent in French and Spanish.
