Overview

Anna Aster is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the global Financial Services Practice, specializing in the functional areas of risk, audit, regulatory compliance, fraud, sanctions, and AML. She also contributes on engagements within the CEO & Board of Directors Practice. Throughout her tenure with the firm, Anna has helped execute the placement of chief risk and credit officers, heads of operational risk, leaders in fraud, control leaders, anti-bribery and corruption, chief auditors, and chief compliance officers across a spectrum of financial services, insurance, and fintech platforms.

Experience

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Anna held various roles within financial services. She began her career at GE Capital and was hired into the firm’s Financial Management Program (FMP), an intensive two-year entry-level program across four rotational assignments. While in the program, she held roles in compliance, risk, and financial planning and analysis. After completing the program, Anna joined the risk and originations team of GE Capital’s commercial real estate lending group. In addition to her work at GE, Anna was an associate director in the investment banking division of UBS and as real estate business development and portfolio manager for Related’s subsidiary company, Equinox.
