Katie (de Haas) Anderson is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ San Francisco office and a member of the Financial Services and Technology practices. She focuses on fintech and digital assets, advising founders, boards, and executive teams on senior leadership and talent needs. She partners with growth companies as they scale, navigate transformation, and prepare for the public markets.
Experience
Katie began her career at Heidrick & Struggles in the firm’s global Technology & Services Practice.
She later spent more than four years leading global executive recruiting at Kraken (now Payward). She partnered with the company’s founders, board, and senior leadership to build and evolve its leadership team as the business grew from one of the world’s original crypto exchanges into a crypto-native market infrastructure platform.
While at Kraken, Katie spent two years based in London, gaining experience in the European market and the evolving global digital assets ecosystem. Working within a fully distributed global organization, she identified and recruited executives across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Having spent much of her career in founder-led, high-growth organizations, Katie has a firsthand understanding of the pace, ambiguity, and evolving leadership needs that come with scaling disruptive businesses. Her experience as both a search professional and an in-house talent leader shapes her approach to client partnership, combining the reach and rigor of a global search firm with the practical perspective gained from working closely with founders and leadership teams.
