Overview
Sarah Arnot Mulhern is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Johannesburg office and a member of Heidrick Consulting. She advises CEOs and senior executives on all matters relating to leadership with calm discretion and an extensive understanding of the demands of leadership.
Experience
Sarah works with public and private companies of various sizes across all sectors. She has led succession planning and leadership engagements for several South African and international organizations and has coached the CEOs of some of South Africa’s most iconic companies.
Clients include Implats, PPC, Webber Wentzel, Shoprite, Assore, First Capital Bank, Telkom, Metrofile, Oaktree Capital, Primedia, Quatari Diar, and others.
Sarah is particularly interested in understanding senior executives at a deep level and using that understanding to support their individual transformation journey as well as that of the leadership team. She is passionate about supporting boards in CEO succession planning through assessment and talent mapping, harnessing the resources of her Heidrick Consulting colleagues and tools to the maximum benefit of the client.
Previously Sarah was the founder and managing partner of a boutique leadership services firm in South Africa. Before that, she was a member of the leadership advisory team at another global search firm. She is an accredited executive coach.
Sarah has published two best-selling books on leadership, Find Your Focus: 5 Steps to Your Best Year Ever and Keep Your Focus: 40 Thought Pieces on Maintaining Your Top Performance.
