Overview

Tom Clarke is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Dubai office and a member of the global Technology & Services, Technology Officers, and Digital Officers practices.

Experience

Tom has widespread experience leading and executing projects within the technology, digital, professional services, and venture capital sectors across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Within the technology and digital sectors, he conducts senior-level searches in the online space, including search platforms, e-commerce, media, and social media platforms, and the enterprise software space, including IoT, big data and analytics, performance monitoring, and cyber. His work in the venture-backed space includes consumer tech, health tech, fintech, and industrial tech.

Tom also works on senior functional searches, mainly CIO, CTO, and CDO mandates across the Gulf Cooperation Council. Most recently, he has worked closely with various early-to-mid-stage VC-backed start-ups, helping them with internationalizing their leadership teams and modernizing and diversifying their current hiring practices.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Tom worked for another executive search firm in London, where he worked within the CIO and CTO practice, focusing on senior-level functional hires for some of the largest FTSE-listed businesses. This included new evolutionary roles in the technology sector, including chief digital officer, chief customer officer, and chief data officer roles.
