Jonathan Goldstein

Overview

Jonathan Goldstein is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and regional managing partner of the Private Equity Practice in the Americas. With over three decades in the private equity space, initially as an investment professional and then as an advisor, Jonathan has counseled alternative-asset firms on their recruitment, leadership, and talent needs.

Experience

Jonathan recruits investment professionals, operating partners, advisors, and business development professionals. He also advises his clients and assembles the right team to help them navigate human capital recruiting and assessment needs at the fund-level and portfolio company levels. Jonathan’s proactive approach has led to the formation of new private equity funds and increased deal flow for his clients.

Jonathan works with both the general partner and limited partner communities. Within the general partner community, his clients include buyout funds, growth equity funds, special situation funds, distressed funds, credit opportunity funds, and specialty lending funds. His limited partner clients comprise sovereign wealth funds, fund of funds, insurance companies, corporations, endowments, foundations, and family offices.

Before the executive search, Jonathan was vice president at Sun Capital Partners, a middle-market buyout firm focusing on distressed investing. He began his career in the private equity markets of the former Soviet Union, where he was a fund manager at AIG Brunswick Millennium and New Century Holdings.

He is fluent in Russian.
