Julia Goodman


Julia Goodman is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Johannesburg office working across sub-Saharan Africa and a member of the global Technology & Services and Social Impact practices. She consults with clients across all industries with a particular focus on Leadership Development. She was previously an engagement manager at Heidrick & Struggles.


Julia works extensively with C-Suite executives and directors to source the best talent in the market, conduct market scans and talent maps, and consult on leadership development and assessment projects. She has a particular interest in technology and has worked on global searches for large telecommunications, infrastructure, and private equity-backed technology companies. Julia has worked with clients in South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, the DRC, as well as the wider West, East, and Central African regions.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Julia spent three years at a boutique executive search firm in Johannesburg. She started her career as part of a graduate trainee programme at a major international motor company and then worked in sales and marketing at a five-star hotel in the UK. She also has experience in marketing planning, research, and business and competitor intelligence.
