Minkyo Kim is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Seoul office and a member of the Industrial Practice. He has operational experience and strategic expertise in energy, power, automation, digital transformation, and global engineering, procurement, and construction.

Experience

Minkyo is a trusted advisor and partner to Korean conglomerates and foreign MNCs in senior executive recruitment and organizational consulting. He conducts CEO succession and senior executive search assignments and assesses top executives, working with several KOSPI-listed and foreign companies across various industry sectors.

Previously, Minkyo worked for more than 20 years in Switzerland, Australia, and Korea as an engineer, strategist, and global sales and marketing manager in a French conglomerate, and an entrepreneur in private ventures. During his ten years in Switzerland, Minkyo held several global roles across diverse functions spanning R&D, operations strategy, and sales & marketing for a multi-billion-euro power generation equipment and EPC giant. In Australia, Minkyo founded an engineering firm specializing in 3D modeling and manufacturing of commercial equipment and has successfully run it for six years.

Minkyo co-authored a thesis published by the ASME on topics such as leveraging artificial neural networks, better known as deep learning, used in the early detection of gas turbine failures and critical sensor validation.

He is an IRIS Registered National Researcher (No. 13013125).
