Björn Lindberg is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Amsterdam office and a member of the Industrial Practice. He is also a member of the CEO & Board of Directors, Energy, and Sustainability & Climate practices.
Experience
Björn brings a strong passion for helping leaders, teams, and organizations perform at their best to his work with blue-chip companies, financial investors, and scale-up businesses. He partners with clients across the industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors to translate ambition into measurable results. Björn’s work focuses strongly on decarbonization, energy transition, climate technology, circularity, and sustainability.
His functional expertise includes CEO and board roles, corporate officers, operations, capital projects, and large P&L leadership. He also supports leadership roles related to transformation, strategy, and sustainability.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Björn spent 14 years in the energy industry at Shell, including two years in South Africa, where he held senior global HR business partner roles.
Björn supported Shell’s upstream, integrated gas, and renewables businesses, as well as its mergers and acquisitions and corporate venturing teams. He was responsible for all people and organizational matters, including executive talent sourcing, top team effectiveness, leadership development, succession planning, performance culture, organizational health, post-merger integration, and portfolio company governance. He is fluent in English, Dutch, German, and Swedish.
