Tom Murray is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Boston office and the global managing partner of executive search. He is a member of the global management committee, reporting to the CEO, and is responsible for leading the firm’s global executive search businesses and teams, and client operations.


Tom has an extensive client portfolio spanning all industries across the firm’s businesses to drive client results as “One Heidrick.” He advises CEO and boards on building future-focused leadership teams for the firm’s key clients.

Previously, Tom was the global managing partner of the global Technology & Services Practice.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Tom was a human resources executive with extensive experience in HR, talent management, and talent attraction. Notably, he was the first chief talent officer for Dell Technologies, where he led in-market and global HR and talent teams, driving cross-collaboration, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.

Tom is a member of the Board of Trustees at Cape Cod Academy, an independent college preparatory day school. He previously served on the board of directors for Horizons for Homeless Children, one of the few organizations in Massachusetts focused exclusively on the needs of homeless children and their families.
