Obinna Onyeagoro is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office and a member of the global Financial Services Practice.

Experience

Obinna focuses on alternative investments, specializing in infrastructure (debt and equity platforms), private credit platforms, and emerging market private equity. He collaborates with European infrastructure and Africa-focused private equity clients, partnering with Heidrick & Struggles colleagues to drive talent-focused value creation within portfolio companies at the asset level.

Obinna has experience placing senior executives and board directors across private equity and infrastructure investor-backed companies across Europe, Middle East, and Africa and works with Africa-focused banks.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Obinna built and scaled the private equity coverage business for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Standard Chartered Bank. He developed the strategy and business plan, aligning corporate finance, regional specialists, and product teams to deliver investment advisory and financing solutions to institutional investors.

Earlier in his career, Obinna helped launch Deutsche Bank’s asset management infrastructure investment platform in New York and worked in leveraged finance and energy corporate finance with Deutsche Bank securities. He also worked with Accenture, implementing management processes and designing strategies with a focus on technology.
