Carlos Vazquez

Overview

Carlos Vazquez is the partner in charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Mexico office. With more than 12 years of executive search experience, he specializes in CEO and board of directors, CEO succession, financial services, fintech, venture capital, technology, private equity, and leadership advisory assignments.

Experience

Carlos focuses on CEO and C-Level search assignments for clients based in Mexico and Latin America, where he has broad expertise across business lines and functional roles. His depth of experience extends beyond executive search to include board and CEO succession, family companies, executive assessments, and talent development.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Carlos was a partner at another global executive search firm for more than 11 years, where he played a critical role in building the firm’s relationships with leading financial institutions, fintech, private equity, and family offices. Before his career in search, Carlos was a vice president at Goldman Sachs Investment Banking, based in New York and Mexico, where he focused on M&A and capital markets. Earlier in his career, he was a strategy consultant with Deloitte and performed economic research at BBVA.

Carlos is an entrepreneur, having co-founded an HR tech startup that is well-positioned to disrupt the HR ecosystem. There, he gained first-hand experience in agile cultures, innovation, and the challenges founders and owners face to scale their businesses. He has extensive experience working with owners, founders, boards, and executives within larger family, private equity, and VC-owned companies.
