Jeffrey White is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Tokyo office and a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice. Drawing on deep expertise in Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets and Japanese business culture, he helps clients secure high-impact, long-term leaders.
Experience
Jeffrey has over a decade of experience in executive search across Japan’s healthcare and life sciences sectors, combining industry and in-house expertise. Most recently he built the internal executive search function at Astellas Pharma and led global executive hiring during a period of significant transformation. Before that, Jeffrey led Moderna’s APAC talent acquisition during the COVID pandemic and established affiliate offices in Japan, Korea, and Australia.
Prior to moving in-house, he specialized in R&D and commercial leadership search within the pharmaceutical industry at boutique recruitment firms in Tokyo. He began his career in real estate in Los Angeles before relocating to Japan in 2014.
Jeffrey is also a classically trained cellist and has performed extensively as a professional.
