Important Notice: Employment and Recruitment Scams

Heidrick & Struggles is aware of individuals fraudulently impersonating our firm’s brand likeness, executives, and employees in recruitment and employment scams. They use false employment opportunities or dream job offers using our branding to get your attention, use impersonated LinkedIn or other social media profiles, non-Heidrick.com email addresses, such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo and suspicious phone numbers for calls, texts, or WhatsApp to make their outreach appear legitimate.

What Heidrick & Struggles will never ask you to do

  • Heidrick & Struggles and its employees will never request payment, banking information, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or any other financial commitment from a candidate as part of our recruitment process.
  • Heidrick & Struggles will never contact you from email domains such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or any other variation of our legitimate domain.
  • Heidrick & Struggles will never request you to pay for CV, resume, or employment profile enhancements.
  • Heidrick & Struggles will never recommend a third-party to provide CV, resume, or employment profile enhancements or services.

Signs of a recruitment scam

  • You receive an unexpected communication from a sender you do not recognize, e.g., the email come from a Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other mimicked non-Heidrick account
  • The message is sent to multiple people, not to you individually, similar to a group text.
  • It requests personal information (CV or resume) or involves you paying for the service to an unknown or unverified individual or company.
  • The job opportunities have unrealistic or “too good to be true” compensation, benefits, and perks.
  • Job opportunities do not align with services Heidrick & Struggles customarily provides.
  • The message contains links or attachments – do not click or open!

How to protect yourself and report suspicious activity

  • Do not engage with or respond to the suspicious sender’s request.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited emails, text messages, or social media messages from senders you do not recognize.
  • Do not send your personal or financial information to someone you do not know or cannot verify.
  • Report the fraudulent, profile, email, or message to the platform or service through which you were contacted such as LinkedIn, Google, or WhatsApp, and block the sender.
  • Report suspected fraud to us at security@heidrick.com.
  • If you suspect that you may have been the victim of fraud, you may also consider reporting the incident to your local law enforcement authorities.

We understand that receiving fraudulent communications about what appears to be a legitimate and desired opportunity can be distressing and frustrating. Heidrick & Struggles takes these reports of recruitment fraud seriously and is working diligently with appropriate platforms and partners to have these email addresses removed and taken down.
