Overview

Joe DeVita is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences and Private Capital practices. He advises private equity firms and healthcare companies on executive and board leadership, with experience across payer and provider services, pharma services, medtech, and clinical research and healthcare technology businesses.

Experience

Joe partners with private equity firms across the health care ecosystem and supports executive search engagements for portfolio companies.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Joe was a director at Dartmouth Partners, a London-based executive search firm, and spent several years with Notch Partners, a pre-investment advisory firm focused on providing equity sponsors with executive access, diligence perspectives, and early team-buildout support. Working closely with deal teams, he helped investors refine investment theses, evaluate leadership opportunities, and develop proprietary sector insights across areas including home health, infusion, behavioral health, healthcare services, and payer-related businesses. He partnered with private equity investors on talent strategy throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting deal sourcing, market mapping, due diligence, and leadership assessments, and executing senior executive and board searches for portfolio companies.

In these roles, Joe became a trusted advisor to private equity firms seeking differentiated access to executive talent and market intelligence before and after investment. He has supported executive mapping, CEO and C-suite searches, board recruitment, and strategic introductions across a broad range of healthcare sectors, partnering with both investors and operators to drive value creation.
