Overview
Tim Jensen is the partner in charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Toronto office and a senior member of the global Industrial Practice. He advises boards, CEOs, and executive teams on complex leadership challenges, with a particular focus on CEO succession, board composition, and senior executive transitions across multiple geographies and regulatory environments. Tim helps clients build high-performing boards and leadership teams, drawing on his broad industry perspective and extensive relationships across the global talent landscape.
Experience
A mechanical engineer by training, Tim has deep experience across capital-intensive and technology-enabled sectors, including mining, metals, battery materials, energy, advanced manufacturing, and related global industries. His advisory work spans board-level succession planning, CEO selection, and the evaluation of leadership capabilities required to navigate transformation, growth, and geopolitical complexity.
Tim regularly works with multi-regional and global teams and has conducted senior-level searches and advisory mandates across North and South America, Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He has extensive assessment experience and is certified to deliver and interpret the Hogan Assessment suite, enabling him to provide nuanced insights on executive readiness, potential, and leadership risk.
Since joining Heidrick & Struggles in Melbourne in 2010, Tim has partnered with a wide range of clients, from some of the world’s largest public and private enterprises to midsized and emerging companies, helping them shape leadership strategies aligned with their long-term value-creation goals.
