Marcelo Lavall

Overview

Marcelo Lavall is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Rio de Janeiro office and a member of  the Industrial and Energy practices. With more than 20 years of experience in executive search and leadership advisory, he has led projects for publicly traded companies, family-owned businesses, multinational corporations, and private equity and investment funds across Brazil and Latin America.

Experience

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Marcelo spent nearly five years at another global executive search firm, leading the infrastructure and natural resources practices in Brazil. He advised clients on CEO succession, board and senior executive searches, board assessments, and a broad range of leadership consulting assignments.

Earlier in his career, Marcelo led the advisory practice of a leading Brazilian consulting firm, overseeing projects focused on corporate governance, organizational design, executive assessment, leadership development, and executive compensation.

Before transitioning into executive search and consulting, Marcelo built an eight-year career in the oil and gas industry with Petróleo Ipiranga and Petrobras. During this time, his experience spanned engineering, logistics, operations, commercial management, and strategic planning. 

He is a native Portuguese speaker and is fluent in English.
