Overview
Michael Nieset is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Boston office and is part of the global Technology Practice’s leadership team, conducting CEO, COO, president, and board director searches for technology and technology-enabled companies. He also leads many of the firm’s global client relationships.
Experience
Michael leads CEO, CEO succession, and board director searches across all enterprise technology sectors, including enterprise SaaS, FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, and industrial technology and robotics. His experience spans growth equity, private equity, and publicly-listed clients.
Michael has previously held leadership roles in the firm, including managing partner of the Software Practice. He also led the design and development of a unique apprenticeship program in collaboration with Stanford University’s Rock Center for Corporate Governance, which was designed to accelerate the development of diverse executives for broader operating roles and corporate board service.
Michael regularly contributes to discussions on corporate governance, succession planning, and board diversity. He is a guest lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business.
