He is also a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences and the CEO & Board of Directors practices. With 20+ years of executive search experience, his clients benefit from his judgment, knowledge, and efficiency to achieve great outcomes.
Experience
Allen has deep executive search experience working with life science companies, including innovative, high-growth MedTech, biopharmaceutical, and pharma services companies. He also has extensive experience serving business-to-business contract service and solutions providers. His clients include private equity and venture capital-backed companies as well as high-growth publicly listed companies with global operations.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Allen was a partner in the life sciences and healthcare practice of another global executive search firm. In between partner roles at global executive search firms, he formed and led a boutique firm serving healthcare and life sciences clients for seven years, concurrently launching and operating a separate health-related business.
Allen started his career at another top five global retained executive search firm, progressing to managing director while working with pharmaceutical services, healthcare IT, MedTech, and health services clients.
Before executive search, Allen was with the Advisory Board Company, a healthcare-focused strategic research and consulting firm that Optum/United Health Group later acquired.
