Overview
Clayton Sears is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Dallas office and co-leads the global Energy Sector, which includes alternative and renewable energy, oil and gas, and power and utilities. He is also a member of the global Industrial, CEO & Board of Directors, and Financial Officers practices.
Experience
Clayton focuses primarily on C-level, senior investment professional, and board-level search assignments and works directly with investors and private and public companies focused on energy infrastructure.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Clayton served for six years as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and then served on the general’s staff of the Marine Corps’ Special Operations Command, where he played a leading role in shaping the organization’s strategy in the Middle East.

Philanthropy and Service
Clayton is an active member of his church community, having served as a deacon and a director of a parent-focused Bible study for several years. He also serves on the board of The Tavern Ministry, a non-denominational ministry that disciples future Navy and Marine Corps leaders at the Naval Academy.
