Private-equity compensation trends in Asia: 2016

The 2015–16 Heidrick & Struggles’ Asia Pacific Private Equity Compensation Survey was conducted in November and December of 2015. It is the third annual edition of the survey, featuring compensation trend data from more than 200 investment professionals across the region.

This year’s survey includes compensation data from 2015, 2014, and 2013 as well as data on expected compensation development in 2016. In addition to overall pooled data, we analyzed responses by country and by strategy across buyout, growth, real assets, fund of funds, and special situations. For the first time, this year’s report also includes data from value-creation professionals.

About the authors

Monica Abrol ( is an engagement manager in Heidrick & Struggles’ Singapore office and a member of the Financial Services Practice. Michael Di Cicco ( is the regional managing partner of the Private Equity Practice for the Asia Pacific region; he is based in the Singapore office. Kanika Walia ( is a senior research analyst in the Gurgaon office.
