Overview
Ron Brown is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington D.C. office and a member of the CEO & Board, Financial Officers, and Social Impact practices. He has more than two decades of experience advising CEOs and boards on succession planning and building high-performance leadership teams through executive search and leadership advisory.
Experience
Ron’s clients include private equity-sponsored and publicly traded companies as well as family offices and nonprofit entities.
Ron joined Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington, D. C. office before moving to California to help open an office there. He is a Colorado native, and in 2000 he opened the firm’s Denver office.
Ron has held various leadership positions within Heidrick & Struggles, including managing partner of principal development, managing partner of the western region, managing partner of the Cleantech Practice, and managing partner of the global Technology & Services Practice in the Americas. He was elected by his partners to the Global Partnership Council.
Prior to Heidrick & Struggles, Ron served in various appointed government positions, including on The White House staff. He began his career in marketing and government relations positions with a major policy research institution.

Philanthropy and Service
Ron was appointed to the State of Colorado IT Economic Development Advisory Council by the governor. He is an emeritus member of the board of the University of Colorado’s Denver College of Business and is past chair of the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship there. He also serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Colorado Chapter, and he is an NACD Governance Fellow.
