Hnn-Hui Hii is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Singapore office and a member of the global Industrial, Technology, and CEO & Board of Directors practices. He advises clients across Asia Pacific on leadership, team effectiveness, and board performance, specializing in energy and cleantech, private capital, and family-owned businesses.

Experience

Hnn-Hui has led CEO, CXO, and independent non-executive director searches for organizations undergoing transformation. He advises clients on leadership assessment and development, with expertise in succession planning and talent strategy across industrial, technology, and family-owned businesses.

Since 2008, he has completed more than 200 senior-level assignments, including over 20 CEO succession engagements, and has assessed more than 300 C-suite executives across public, private, and private equity–backed companies.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Hnn-Hui led a management consulting firm focused on solar, waste-to-energy, and sustainability projects across Southeast Asia.

Earlier in his career, he assisted two cabinet ministers in Malaysia, worked in the energy and cleantech practice at a global executive search firm, and advised on transformation initiatives at a strategy consulting firm founded by former McKinsey consultants. He began his career as a process engineer at Motorola.

Hnn-Hui is a certified Hogan assessor and is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, and Malay.
