Richard Guest is partner-in-charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Dubai office and the global sector leader for the Mobile & Communications Practice. He also leads the Technology & Services Practice in the Middle East.
Based in the Middle East for more than thirteen years, Richard works with multinational and regional corporations filling board, c-suite, regional president/MD, and partner-level positions. He also leads consulting assignments focused on board assessments, leadership assessments, CEO succession planning, and culture shaping.
Richard’s clients span the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Within the mobile and communications domain, he focuses on CEO succession, C-suite searches and leadership advisory projects for telecom operators, tower companies, satellite companies, equipment vendors, and software and services firms that serve the telecommunications ecosystem. Within the region, his clients encompasses the full spectrum of the technology and services sectors including software, hardware, OTT, digital, media, and professional services segments. He also works with private equity and venture capital funds advising on the leadership requirements of their portfolio businesses.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Richard worked at another international executive search firm where he was involved in the start-up of the Dubai office and worked with clients across the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. Prior to that, he worked at a UK-based executive search firm with whom he moved to Dubai following an acquisition. Earlier in life he spent fifteen years living in South East Asia.
Richard has authored numerous articles for leading publications in the Middle East focusing on talent-related issues in the telecoms, technology, and aviation sectors.
Richard earned a BA in politics from the University of York.
