Jonathan Jones is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Human Resources Officers Practice.
Experience
Jonathan has over 20 years of experience as a recruiting leader and talent executive at various leading finance and investment firms. He works with companies across investment banking, asset management, alternative investing, and other financial services subsectors.
Jonathan began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for a time as global head of recruiting during his sixteen years at the firm. He subsequently had recruiting leadership roles at BlackRock and D. E. Shaw, where he led search activity across the firm’s discretionary investing units and corporate functions.
Jonathan also worked as head of business development at Point72, focused on hiring investment professionals at all levels for the firm’s flagship long/short equity business. He spent two years as head of talent at biotech incubator, Roivant Sciences, leading searches for C-level executives, senior investors, and other specialist positions.

Jonathan serves on the advisory boards of various recruitment technology startups. He writes extensively on careers and recruitment in the financial services sector. His work is published in Forbes, HuffPost, and Apple News, among others. He is a guest lecturer on recruitment and careers at Duke University.
