Overview
Charles Wallace is a partner emeritus in Heidrick & Struggles’ Chicago office and previously served as managing partner of the Cleveland office. Charlie has more than 35 years of business experience helping clients strengthen their executive leadership.
Experience
An experienced search professional, Charlie has worked with a wide variety of organizations, including major public corporations and small high growth companies. He has assisted clients in recruiting senior general management, finance, operating and technology executives. An important part of his practice is focused on helping companies strengthen their corporate governance practices and build more effective boards of directors.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Charlie spent 13 years with another major international search firm. Previously, he was a partner with McKinsey & Company, Inc., one of the world’s premier general management consulting firms. With McKinsey, in the firm’s Cleveland office, his consulting practice was oriented towards industrial marketing, mergers and acquisitions and general business strategy; clients included large automotive companies, machine tool manufacturers, industrial distributors and other general manufacturing organizations. Charlie spent six years with the firm in their Washington, D.C. office before moving to Cleveland. He began his career with the Sun Oil Company as an economic analyst.
