Women on technology company boards: The experience and dynamics

Heidrick & Struggles’ Lee Hanson speaks with Maggie Wilderotter, chair of the board of directors of DocuSign and former CEO of Frontier Communications, about the evolving role of women in the boardroom. Wilderotter discusses the ways in which business success and diversity are correlated and explains how women’s experiences add value to boards, creating a “seek-to-understand format” rather than a “declaratory format.” She also notes that women make excellent facilitating leaders—a must for an effective board chair.
