Boards and the COVID-19 crisis: Preparing for the future

There are three trends emerging as boards prepare for a future following the COVID-19 crisis.

As boards look ahead at how they can best lead their companies back to growth after the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, we are seeing three trends emerge: leadership traits, board composition, and operating in the digital world. Leadership traits such as resiliency and acting with purpose are becoming ever more valued. Boards are looking to add capabilities such as restructuring experience and nuts-and-bolts operating experience. And boards in the future will benefit from taking advantage of new digital ways of working, such as online meetings and one-on-one conversations, to communicate more frequently and also strengthen their relationships and board dynamics.
